    Racing in Bombay

Here's the report on the 5 km hill race on Sunday, 26 May 2002. It's been a great drive on Abhishek's Fiat Palio 1.6, with 3 prizes, and we wish to thank the racer, Ashok, an ex-go-cart champion. The car was stock and the only additions were a K&N cone filter, race exhaust and the Twin Surbos in the 3 inch pipe. Ordinary sparks, cables, brakes, clutch and gears were used.

    In Abhishek's - own words

Here are some pics of the extravaganza along with Abhi's comments:"

Pre-race: here are the cars along with mine waiting in the parking lot in the morning before the start of the race. The white car with blue strip is the MARUTI ZEN which was my friend's car. It has a 1000cc engine. The other 2 cars are same FORD IKON cars having 1600 cc engine.

1st Leg: this is the pic of the cars lined up for the start of Leg 1 race.

Sticker: this pic shows the Surbo Sticker which I made. I took the logo from the UK site and it looks amazing. Also, you get a closer look at the 15 inch alloy wheels along with 195/50ZR 15 GOODYEAR Eagle F1 tyres.

Picture of Fiat Palio 1.6, no. 41, with Twin Surbos. This one was taken at the start line of the 2nd lap. The one in the blue inside is my friend, Ashok, who drove the car in the rally. The guy standing and leaning on my car is my best friend.

Picture of fitting for the Surbo and the filter. I have used a hard plastic (PVC) 3 inch pipe which is around 14 inches in length. It has 3 inch gap between two Surbos and then again 3 inch gap just before the throttle body for the 2nd Surbo so that it too can have a complete vortex and deliver accurate power. Also I used a 45 degree angle elbow again of plastic and fitted the FILTER. And as you can see it has been shielded by the Heat shield so that the plastic pipe doesn't expand.
