Improved Performance Through Greater Torque

(The reason why top speed is higher is because using the Surbo, the accelerator need not be floored to reach the original top speed, so there is still a vacuum in the manifold drawing in air for acceleration. For everyday use, it just means easier cruising and fuel saving because cruising speed is a fraction of the top speed)

Kilowatt Per Tonne vs 0-100 kph Time. This graph is the best judge of performance, according to Autospeed.com. Thanks to David Barker (Citroen VSX) for his contribution. Calculations on this chart shows that his car's power-to-weight ratio has improved from 119 bhp/tonne (BBC Top Gear Jun 94) to around 185 bhp/tonne.

Other Reports

*'07 0.8 Chery QQ with Surbo climbed the 10-storey Benjamin Sheares bridge at 80 kph in 5th, from Rochore. It also gained 4 km per litre with Surbo to hit 16 kpl. This Chery QQ was later fitted with Twin Surbo and it hit 160 kph with 3/4 throttle (orig 130 kph).

*Honda Euro R with Surbo achieves 233 kph at 13000 rpm in 6th gear (close-ratio gearbox, recorded on computer), with less than half throttle. In 3rd gear, it already hit 210 kph. The owner claimed a highest speed of 130 kph by first gear.
