Hi there

I don't know if you still remember me, but I installed the Surbo from you at a Jurong East estate carpark, for this red Honda 1.3 GL. Well, it definitely works really well, you could feel the surge in power of the car...like there's a constant push to it all. Well, my 1.3L car doesn't consume much fuel, and with the Surbo, boy, it definitely cuts cost!

Anyway, I was wondering if you'll do modifications to my elephant trunk/ carb air filter system. As you mentioned when we installed the Surbo, you said it would be much better if we get a ram-pod type of filter with the cut-in ram pipe just like the much newer Honda Civics. So, actually, do you do that sort of modification..of course, adding the same Surbo in it as well. Coz I think that will actually increase the performance of the car, right? The elephant trunk type of air intake pipe seems to look weak!! haha...don't know if you get what I mean! But your expert views on it would be much appreciated of course, as I think too much air mixing with the fuel ain't good too, right?

Please get back to me with your comments and your availability to do such modifications and the cost too. Coz I might really consider changing it! Thanks...

Comments from Surbo Engineering: yes the carb-type overhead filter could be changed to an elbow at the carb, which brings the air path backwards from vertical to horizontal, and a pipe can connect the elbow to a cone filter. The Surbo could be installed in the pipe after the cone. Off the elbow, the original oil breather tube must be reconnected to cool the engine. The elbow must have a bolt hole or holes that matches the original carb filter bolts, and there must be a good soft seal between the carb and the elbow. All joints must be sealed for leaks. We usually specify the pipe and elbow requirements, and when it has been built by a third party, the Surbo can be installed quite easily.
