You can let us have photos of your engine sections that you think may have been modified, and with our experience, we should be able to tell you.
We always ask our customers about the fuel economy of their vehicles, for the reason that if it falls out of the common range for its kind, something is wrong with its efficiency, perhaps due to modifications that have taken away the low rpm power of the engine. Or maybe too large a tyre size has been fitted and it's causing the engine to over-exert. The best is still the original setting, which we will make recommendations for, and if desired the Surbo can be fitted to give the vehicle the best results.
If you open up the air pipe after the air filter, or look within it, you might find a colourful tube-like device, that may or may not be the Surbo. Please take a photo and let us see it. If it is the original Surbo, we would advise that you let us reinstall it for a fee significantly lower than the new price, to give you the power and fuel economy that Surbo owners enjoy.
Sometimes if the car is old, tubes or joints may be loose and these affect the air intake power. Due to our requirement for a perfect air seal, and thus our experience with sealing, we can help check and remove these leaks, so that the entire air suction power of your engine is directed at its air filter. This also prevents dirt from entering and damaging the engine. If the air filter element is ill-fitting, either because of a poorly-sized aftermarket replacement, or someone inserting one with the closest fit available, we will advise you to find the original piece. If the vehicle has a lot of mileage, the valve clearances may have become reduced with cam wear, and air flow reduced, but the Surbo can compensate for this with its greater air induction power. So, don't hesitate to contact us for advice.
