With the Surbo, the light turbo effect air suction device, the Renault Kangoo will derive the following benefits:

1. For the petrol manual version: quick revving to red line on the rpm meter with half throttle, faster 0-100 kph acceleration, higher top speed, and hence easier cruising. Therefore, fuel economy improves, especially on the highway. There will be a wider torque spread, with a higher torque peak at a lower rpm, and more bhp.

2. For the automatic version: instant acceleration from standstill as there is more engine torque so no slip is required, higher revving than the usual 3000 rpm with just half throttle, or the ability to change gear up at a lower rpm due to sufficient torque, quick gear kickdown by pressing the accelerator slightly, higher top speed and better fuel economy.

3. For the diesel version: higher revs with part throttle, better acceleration, higher top speed, less black smoke. More load lugging ability too.

The fitting position for Surbo in the Renault Kangoo is on the inlet to the air filter.

A boost meter can also be added to the Surbo or the Twin Surbo to maximize the driver's control over the Surbo system (which is the Surbo, plus engine and drivetrain).

Further upgrades might be removing the rev limit as it will be approached while the engine is still accelerating with half throttle, or to change to a superior ECU which allows ultra high revving if your engine has a variable lift cam. Due to the ample low end torque of the Surbo, you may also upgrade your cam to a fast road cam (a quarter race cam), which gives more high rpm power in exchange for some of the low rpm power.

If a turbocharger is fitted in the Renault Kangoo, the Surbo will help to cut turbo lag as the denser airflow from low rpm of the Surbo will help to spool the turbocharger earlier and bring turbo boost sooner.
